IRAQFILES - Background

March 17, 2007 7:05 PM

The Pentagon has begun to release some of the thousands of Iraqi government and military documents and media confiscated during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Some have already been translated, but many are in the original Arabic. They were made public in order to allow translation by bloggers and others fluent Arabic. This Pajamas Media blog is a repository for those translations and for commentary (either in text, audio or video) on what the documents mean.

PJMedia videos available for background:
1. Congressman Hoekstra, chairman of the House Select Intelligence Committee
2. Former Director of Central Intelligence James Woolsey
3. Former Assistant Secretary of Defense Richard Perle
4. Shadow War author Richard Miniter

The MSM is going to have a conniption fit over this. The overly cautious disclaimers that accompany their coverage of these documents shows how much they don't want the public to believe it. They would rather the import of its content die the death of a thousands qualifiers.

I posted this over at Roger L. Simons blog, but I will post it here as well:

I would like to remind everyone that CNS News revealed the existance of 42 pages of important Iraqi documents in October 2004. They subsequently went on to publish them in their entirety. I would suggest that these be added to the PJM archive.

IRAQ - Republic of Fear [Docs reveal more barbarity]

Dan Darling has more on Saddam's documents in a new article at The Weekly Standard.

RBT has linked to it and added these comments:

Now that the Blogos has access to the Saddam Regime's docs and tapes, more info re this regime's barbarity is coming to light. Dan Darling has been pouring over these newly released docs. He has these important relevations in this new article at The Weekly Standard. As RBT has said the barbaric Saddam Regime had the same penchent for meticulous record keeping as the brutal Third Reich did before them.

The LL and the MSM are still too entrenched with the WMD meme, "Bush Lied, People Died," and the Iraqi "Civil War" to report on Saddam's atrocities. I guess neo-Hitlers get a free ride on genocide from the MSM editors. The day of reckoning for the LL and the MSM will come soon enough. The Blogos will out them for the blind and naive idealists that they are.

The Saddam Regime's docs are akin to the Ark of the Covenant in the movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, that was last seen languishing in a cavernous governmental warehouse. Times are changing and the LL and the MSM are no longer the sole providers of info and news of the day. The Blogos is surpasing the MSM as the provider of objective, timely, and predictive news that has relevance in our daily lives.

Pajama Media has taken on the chore of warehousing the findings of the Blogos. See posts there by Roy Robinson a frequent contributor to The American Thinker, John Hinderaker of Powerline, Stephen Hayes of The Weekly Standard [ed note: Has been on this story from the beginning], Omar of Iraq the Model, and other direct translations. PajamaHadin, I think you are giving Old Media too much credit. They're going to ignore this like the plague. If this gets widespread attention the Demonrats are done. Its up to New Media to expose this. Hats off to pajamasmedia for setting these pages up!!

www.regimeofterror.com, for documenting Saddam Hussein's sponsorship of and collaboration with terrorists is now up and running with plenty of material to add in the coming weeks and months.
